Agility Foundations
For dogs ages 6 months and up. This class is designed for beginner dogs, and focuses on building a strong foundation to last a lifetime. Dogs will learn equipment from the “ground up”, and handlers will learn how to properly train and reward their dogs. This class will focus on fundamentals that include leadership work, motivating your dogs, the various crosses used in agility, taught as groundwork first, rounded jumping along with other floor work. Dogs will learn the contact obstacles from the ground up, along with the channeled weave pole method. The tunnel, chute, table and broad jump will also be taught.
The goal of this class will be to have the dogs form an understanding of what’s being asked of them, and to build confidence and make agility fun. Dogs will progress at their own pace, and should have a basic sit, down and stay command. Dogs younger than 6 months may participate with the instructor’s approval. Please contact us to see if there is room in the class.
6 weeks – $95.00
Beginner Agility
For dogs one year or older. This class is a continuation of the pre agility class, and dogs will quickly be at full size equipment. It is also for dogs and handlers who may already know the equipment, but feel they lack some of the foundation work needed to successfully compete. There will be continued focus on all the foundation work mentioned above, along with continued floor work. Handlers will learn what cue’s your dog, what drives them and how to provide consistent information to your dog. We will also focus on “skills” to help you be more successful. Small sequencing will be done at first, and will lead up to longer sequencing. The goal of this class is to prepare your dog for novice competition. Students will learn how to apply all the floor and foundation work into running sequences effectively. Dog and handler will progress at their own pace. Please contact us to see if there is room in the class.
6 weeks – $95.00
Intermediate Agility
For dogs and handlers currently competing at novice or open levels. This class will focus and expand on skills learned in the previous classes. Focus will be on the following areas: Properly cueing the dogs, handling consistency, sending and distance work, independent obstacle performance, weave pole entries, serpentines, obstacle discrimination and running sequences. Other skills will also be taught depending on the desires / issues of the individual handlers. Individual problem areas will be evaluated and discussed. Please contact us to see if there is room in the class.
6 weeks – $95.00
Advanced / Competition Agility
For dogs and handlers currently competing in the excellent classes, or who have completed the intermediate agility classes. Similar to the intermediate classes with more challenging skills and sequences. Please contact us to see if there is room in the class.
6 weeks – $95.00
